Modules and assessment

Essays, labs, group work, or exams. Match that to how you actually study. A programme built on group projects will punish you if you work best alone, and the opposite is also true.

Staff pages

If nobody on the page publishes or teaches in your topic, the marketing is ahead of the department. One relevant supervisor is worth more than a polished slogan.

Cost beyond tuition

Studio fees, field trips, and housing. A cheap course in an expensive city is not cheap. Add insurance and a month of rent before you call the offer affordable.

Talk to a current student

One honest message from someone on the course beats three webinars. Ask what they wish they had known in week one.
