Honhaar Scholarship 2026 Punjab: Last Date 9 November

If you have a Punjab domicile and you started (or are continuing) a bachelor's degree in 2026, the CM Punjab Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship is the scholarship to check this week. The new round is open on the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) portal, and university notices list the last date to apply as November 9, 2026.

This guide puts the important parts on one page: who can apply, the marks and income limits, what the scholarship pays, how to apply, and the mistakes that get forms rejected. I have used university scholarship-office notices and the PHEC portal address. Where a detail is only reported in the news, I say so.

Note: Global Career Hub has no link to PHEC or the Government of Punjab. Applying is free. Always type the portal address yourself: honhaarscholarship.punjabhec.gov.pk.

Who can apply

The Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) notice for the 2026 round lists these eligibility rules:

  • Domicile: you need a domicile of any district of Punjab. If you don't have one yet, FJWU says to apply for it right away and upload the token or receipt on the portal for now.
  • No age limit.
  • Family income: monthly family income must be less than Rs 350,000, backed by an affidavit on e-stamp paper. A sample affidavit can be downloaded from the portal.
  • First-semester students (Fall 2026 intake): at least 70% in Intermediate (science) or 65% (arts).
  • Students in 3rd semester onwards: at least 70% in the Spring 2026 semester for science departments, or 65% for social sciences and arts.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) notice says the round is open to all active undergraduate students. New Fall 2026 students apply on their Matric and Intermediate marks, and students already enrolled apply on their latest CGPA (Spring 2026), entering their Fall 2026 semester as the current one.

Your programme and your institution both need to be on the portal's lists. FJWU tells students that if their exact department is not in the drop-down menu, they should pick the closest related discipline instead of leaving it blank.

What the scholarship covers

Honhaar is a tuition-fee scholarship. Press reports on the 2026 announcement say the programme covers tuition for eligible undergraduates for the length of the degree (four to five years, depending on the programme). They also report 50,000 scholarships this year and a higher income limit of Rs 500,000 a month for students at private institutions. I could not open the portal's own pages to confirm those figures. Check the FAQ on the portal before you count on them.

It does not say it pays hostel or living costs. If you need help with those too, also look at need-based options such as the HEC Need-Based Scholarship, but check each scheme's rules on holding two scholarships at once.

Documents to keep ready

  • CNIC or B-Form
  • Punjab domicile (or the token/receipt if your application is still pending)
  • Matric and Intermediate result cards (new students)
  • Latest semester transcript showing Spring 2026 CGPA or percentage (continuing students)
  • University admission letter or student ID
  • Income affidavit on e-stamp paper (use the portal sample)
  • A recent photo and an active mobile number and email

How to apply, step by step

  1. Open honhaarscholarship.punjabhec.gov.pk in your browser by typing it yourself. Don't use links forwarded on WhatsApp.
  2. Check the lists of eligible institutions and disciplines on the portal.
  3. Download the sample affidavit and get it made on e-stamp paper.
  4. Register, then fill in your personal, educational and family-income details.
  5. Upload the documents the form asks for, check every mark and CGPA figure, and submit.
  6. Save or screenshot your application confirmation.
  7. Follow your university's scholarship or financial-aid office. Many campuses post their own instructions and may ask for copies.

The portal was slow when I tried it on 26 October 2026. That is one more reason to apply early, not on 9 November.

Common mistakes

  • Wrong CGPA semester. Continuing students enter the Spring 2026 CGPA, not an older one.
  • Blank discipline field. Pick the closest discipline if yours is not listed.
  • Income figure that doesn't match the affidavit. The two must agree.
  • Paying an "agent". The application is free and online. Nobody can "guarantee" a Honhaar seat. See our guide on scholarship applications without scams.

Honhaar vs PEEF: which one?

PEEF (Punjab Educational Endowment Fund) is a different body with its own schemes, income limits and dates. These are set by category and often by institution. Honhaar is run by PHEC on its own portal. If you qualify for both, read each scheme's rules on holding another scholarship before you accept anything.

FAQ

What is the last date for the Honhaar Scholarship 2026?

The IUB and FJWU notices give November 9, 2026. If PHEC extends it, the portal will be the first place to show the change.

Can students from Sindh or KP apply?

No. A Punjab domicile is required. Sindh students should look at the Sindh Talent Hunt Program (STHP) and at the national schemes on our official scholarship map.

Is there an application fee?

No. Apply only on the PHEC portal.

I am in 5th semester. Can I apply?

The 2026 notices cover students from the 3rd semester onwards, based on Spring 2026 marks, as long as your programme and institution are listed.
